2 Things you should do to sell fast and make more money on Craigslist.
- Embed quality photos into your ad to entice buyers & outshine the competition. It’s easy! I show you how below!
- Embed a YouTube Video of the item. Buyers feel more confident when they can preview before purchasing.
SELLER’S SECRET ALERT!
It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words. In this case, your picture might be worth $1000. Adding large, quality images to your Craigslist ad will make it stand out and sell for more!
Unfortunately, Craigslist’s built-in photo uploader produces small, dull, images that aren’t attractive to buyers. So, we’re going to cheat a little!
Always remember, buyer’s will have other choices. Displaying large, quality photos of the item will separate your ad from the next. Do you know how? Keep reading!
These 2 steps will make your ad stand out from the rest… and that’s exactly what you want!
Let me explain the process with one of my personal examples. I recently sold my Honda CBR on Craigslist. Man, I loved that bike! So much fun! But with 2 kids my priorities changed a bit. One of my babies had to go… and that one happened to be the red speed-machine just sitting in the garage.
So, when it came time to sell, here’s what I did to make even more money:
How to Embed Photos on Craigslist:
STEP 1: Take quality photos of your item.
In this example, we’re selling my motorcycle. Here’s the pics we’ll include in the ad (larger size, of course!).
Be sure to show off the details! And don’t forget to include any accessories.
STEP 2: Upload the Pics to the Web (Flickr?)
Here’s a few screen captures from Photobucket’s process. It should be easy to follow along.
Choose your images and start the upload.
STEP 3: Copy the Photo’s Embed Code.
Once the upload is complete your images will appear as thumbnails just like in the screen shot below. The code you need to copy is directly under the thumbnail. Copy the “HTML code” (the 3rd option down).
If you’re not using Photobucket, open your image in a browser window and then copy the site address. It’s in your browser’s toolbar up top.
Insert that link into this HTML tag, replacing yourimagelink.com with your own link.
<img src=”http://www.yourimagelink.com” />
STEP 4: Paste the Code into the Craigslist Ad
The geekiest part is over. Now, for one more thing. You need to paste the image code from the last step into the ad’s description.
Do the same thing for the rest of your images. Just copy the HTML code and paste! You can view some more shots of the bike. Click any thumbnail below.
Your Craigslist ad now has quality images that will make it stand out from the rest. You can expect your item(s) to sell faster and for more money!
Embed a YouTube Video and Ensure Buyer Confidence.
Buyers feel more confident when they can preview before purchasing. In addition to adding quality photos, I also embed a YouTube video of the item(s). Buyer’s will pay more when they feel confident in the quality of the purchase. Trust me, it’s an extra step, but well worth your time.
It’s even easier to embed YouTube videos on Craigslist. Let me show you how in this next post!
