Dogs, Balls, & An Underwater Camera

Every once in a while (as in very rarely) I’ll receive a forwarded email that even I can’t help but share. This post comes from one of those…

A California photographer gathered all of the neighborhood dogs for a bit of a photo experiment. He threw balls into a pool and took pictures from below the surface of the water.

The results are great; a fun concept and very well executed! Keep reading for several more.

Radio Flyer Wagon

Santa brought the Mosley Fam kids a Red Flyer wagon for Christmas and they’ve been begging to take it outside. Today was a bit warmer so we set out on an adventure around the lake.

Look at Luke (my youngest). He’s ready to ride!

First Candle – My Son’s Birthday Portrait

My son Luke recently celebrated his very first birthday! Someone tell me, how do they get so big so fast? Slow down already!

Happy birthday Lucas! Daddy couldn’t be more proud. I always thank God for you!

Want to see the original shot before my Photoshop magic? It’s a lot messier! Keep reading. Continue Reading →

Wes & Charlene – Bride & Groom Session

While they still act like newly weds, Wes and Charlene’s wedding was actually in December of 2010. The really cool thing is that I officiated their ceremony (you do know that I’m a pastor, right?), and now, I also got to create some bride and groom photos for them. Sweet!

On to the images…

Atlanta’s Piedmont Park was the perfect backdrop for a natural, outdoor setting that showcased beautiful Fall colors. We had a great time and I couldn’t be happier with the images.

Here’s the first set.

Some black and whites to match their tux and wedding dress. Looking sharp Wes, and Charlene, WOW, you’re gorgeous.

Many more shots below.  Continue Reading →

Splish-Splash Bath Time at The Mosley’s

“Splish-splash I was taking a bath” … and daddy busted in with his camera! (What’s new, right?)

I’m a proud father, which makes me a bit biased, but do kids come any cuter? ADORABLE!

I may print a couple of these next shots and hang them in our bathroom. Can you help me decide which 2 would be the best to hang on the wall?

McCain Family Portraits – Douglasville

Within minutes of meeting the McCain family, it became very evident that these guys really love each other. It was awesome to see in action! They have 3 great kids and our shoot was a lot of fun.

Chuck and Cathy, thanks for the opportunity. You have a beautiful family.

Isn’t it time your family had portraits made? Contact Daniel and we’ll set up a custom session.

Engagement Photos of Jacob & Kaitlyn – Piedmont Park, Atlanta

You may remember Jacob and Kaitlyn from the sneak-peek photo I shared not too long ago. They’re a good looking couple with even better personalities, which got me really excited about photographing their engagement photos.

I only wish you could see them as large prints. BEAUTIFUL!

Atlanta’s Piedmont Park made for the perfect backdrop. And the lighting… so warm and buttery. LOVE it!

The next shot is my personal fav. It oozes romance and also shows off her engagement ring. Keep reading!

The One and Only, Jonah Limbert – Douglasville Portrait Photography

Meet Jonah Limbert. He’s one heck of a drummer, a talented dancer, and an actor. Creative arts is certainly his forte.

Jonah approached Mosley Pro Photo in need of head shots and portraits for his portfolio. He’s a stud. So, it wasn’t hard to capture what we needed.

More shots after the jump. Keep reading. Continue Reading →

A Princess and a Monkey…

I’m not one for ghouls, goblins, and all things scary, but there is definitely a special place in my heart for a certain princess and monkey.

Of course I’m biased, but those are two cute kids! More photos and details after the jump.

“Freak Show” – A Student Ministry Production

Halloween is just days away and Transit, the student ministry of Chapel Hill, views this freak-filled holiday as an opportunity to reach out to middle and high school age kids.

Enter the “Freak Show”…

“Freak Show” is a circus of misfits, outcasts, and well… freaks. The ringmaster, played by Jonah Limbert, is symbolic of satan. He lures characters into his evil traps and holds them captive. Each freak has a story of how they became ensnared and the agony they now face.

Spooky? Yes! Effective ministry? Highly!

Mosley Pro Photo was invited to photograph the cast and set up a photo booth where students could have their photo made with one of the freaks. Keep reading for more photos. Continue Reading →

Jacob & Kaitlyn – Engagement Photo Sneak Peek – Piedmont Park, Atlanta

Meet Jacob and Kaitlyn. They’re an awesome couple who are only a couple weeks from walking down the aisle and saying “I do!”

Click on the image to zoom in!

I haven’t finished processing all of their engagement photos, but this one jumped out at me and I couldn’t wait to share it here as a sneak-peek. I love the shot… the Atlanta skyline, a beautiful sunset, and good looking couple.

More shots of these guys will be posted at the end of the week. Stay tuned!

PS. Jacob is my brother-in-law and he’s marrying one incredible girl. I couldn’t be happier for them. See you at the wedding guys!

Are you or someone you know getting married soon? Engagement sessions like this are included in our wedding packages. Contact Daniel for details!

Happy Labor Day! Be Careful Out There!

Labor Day  - the 1st Monday in September; an annual US holiday that celebrates the working man (or woman); the symbolic end of Summer; a day for fun in the sun and outdoor barbecues; the beginning of the NFL and college football seasons (Go Dawgs!); and (formerly?) the last day of the year when it is fashionable for women to wear white.

Happy Labor Day!

You might see this guy out & about, Atlanta.

Enjoy the day, spend time with friends and family, and for those of you who live near Atlanta, well…

Willie Nelson, Coldplay, An Animal Factory, and Chipotle Mexican Grill

This week’s creative/inspiration post should appeal to the naturalist in you. Not Captain America? That’s cool too. You’ll still appreciate the use of design and music to evoke an emotional response.

According to the video’s creator,

This 2-minute stop-motion animated film shows the life of a farmer as he slowly turns his family farm into an industrial animal factory, before seeing the errors of his ways and opting for a more sustainable future.

It even has Willie Nelson performing a cover of Coldplay’s “The Scientist”, which I love!

UPDATE: Sorry, but it appears the owner made the video private. Sadly, we can no longer see it. Shame.

Chipotle Mexican Grill commissioned the video. I’m not sure I’ve visited their restaurant, and I sluggishly eat McDonald’s like many of you, but I do support the message of the video. I mean, have you seen Food Inc or Super Size Me? Whoa… scary.

I’m certainly starting to rethink what I put in my body.

Light, Shadow, and an Incredible Optical Illusion

As a kid I loved optical illusions. They were almost as entertaining as magic tricks. Oh, who am I kidding, I still love them. The human mind is so powerful and creative, yet it can easily be deceived. That fascinates me.

Squares A & B are the same shade!

What about you? Do you like optical illusions? Do you remember the one with the gray checkerboard, and a cylinder which cast a “shadow”? Chances are you’ve seen it. Here’s an example to the right. Believe it or not, squares A and B are the same shade of grey. Click the thumbnail to zoom in.

Well, check this out! The illusion has been recreated on video. It’s short, only a minute or so long. You’ll be amazed!

Do you know how the illusion works? If not, here’s your hint. The shadow on the checkerboard isn’t a shadow at all. Even more confused? No worries. The guys who created the video tell you all about it. You’ll have to click “show more” in the YouTube description field.

How cool!

Facebook Totally Redeems Themselves! – No Longer Limited to Low Quality Photo Uploads

Dumb and Dumber - "Dumb Happens" Poster

The first time I saw the movie Dumb & Dumber I laughed so hard my sides hurt the next day. Do you remember the “bathroom” scene? Whoa! That was funny. Lloyd (Jim Carey) and Harry (Jeff Daniels) are the perfect pair of knit-wits!

Relax, this post isn’t really about Dumb & Dumber. This is a photography site, remember? I LOVE one-liners and there is a perfect one in this movie that relates to a recent complaint I’ve had with Facebook.

After Lloyd trades the Mutt Cuts van in for a moped, Harry says to him,

Just when I thought you couldn’t possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this… and totally redeem yourself!

If you haven’t seen the movie, you won’t appreciate the “dumb” humor here, but the line still applies to a recent update by Facebook. Keep reading and I’ll show you what I mean.
